Earlier this month, Campus Progress held their annual National Conference in Washington DC. At the conference were tons of big name progressives like President Clinton, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others. Campus Camp Wellstone was there, too.
As a recent transplant to Minneapolis, I was deeply unsettled when I
learned about the case of Fong Lee, a 19 year old Hmong man shot and killed by a Minneapolis Police Officer, at a recent Campus Camp Wellstone training for
Hmong youth.
Campus Camp Wellstone trains students nationwide on how to run energized, community building, winning campaigns. We focus on campus and community organizing and young voter engagement.
Judith Stadler is currently active with issue advocacy and grassroots
lobbying in Wisconsin. She is working on a single payer health care
plan to be introduced into legislation. Although she has not garnered
success yet, she follows Camp Wellstone's action planning techniques.
Campaign Corps trains recent progressive-minded college
graduates in a week-long Campaign
School, and then puts
them to work on the last three months of a targeted Democratic campaign.
Campus Progressgives a voice to motivated individuals nationwide whom wish to
become progressive leaders and connect with other progressives to from strong
movements for the future.

scoop on what to tell political campaigns when they come asking for our
dollars, hours, connections, and cache.
Campus Camp Wellstone is a 1.5 day, non-partisan, training program that teaches skills of organizing through case study so students apply as they learn.
As progressives, we know we can find better leaders. We are looking for leaders who can restore hope, empower citizens, and be effective voices for change.
